How to Make Your Desires Work for You (And Why Having Desires Doesn’t Make You Less Spiritual)

Certain religions want you to believe that desire is somehow an awful thing– a sign of the spiritually unenlightened and a symptom of degenerating materialism in modern society. If that were really the case, then I’m afraid Creation itself would be fundamentally flawed. Because by its nature, desire is an essential part of being human. It’s designed to work for you, not against you, and certainly not against your pursuit of the divine.

Just like hunger and fatigue is your body’s way of telling you how to take care of your physical health…

desire is your soul’s way of telling you where to steer your life.

When you follow your body’s needs, you’re maximizing your chance of staying healthy. When you follow your desire, you’re creating a path of least resistance towards your highest destiny.

In this week’s video chat, I talk about why your desire is your ally in life and how you can make the most of it. The bottom line:

To desire is human. To relinquish desire is positively not divine.
