Feel the Fear…And Do Nothing.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the adage “feel the fear and do it anyway”. The idea behind is a sensible one. If you’re afraid of doing something as it’s out of your comfort zone, you should push through the fear and get the thing done. It’s good for your growth.

The typical self-help mindset sees procrastination and hesitance to action as a problem. If your fear is standing in your way, you should analyze what you’re afraid of and work through your “limiting beliefs”, so that you can get on with your life.

Here’s a question though. If you think back on your life, I’m sure you’ve had situations where you were able to rightfully take courageous actions despite your fear. And we’ve all done our fair share of staying in our “comfort zone”, feeling afraid to venture out and not taking any action.

So what made your responses in the two situations differ? How come you are perfectly capable of being courageous in some situations, but in other situations you do not exercise that courage?

In Episode 89 of the School of Intuition, I share with you a different perspective on the relationship between fear and action. I’ll talk about why, even though “feel the fear and do it anyway” is valid advice for normal human development, when you’re on the path of consciousness evolution, normal rules often times no longer apply. I’ll explain why sometimes courage is not needed and it’s actually optimal to feel the fear…and do nothing.
